Mission Statement
Our mission is to spread hope, connection, and compassion through small acts of kindness that remind people they are not alone. Through community-painted rocks carrying messages of encouragement and the hashtag #1moreday, we aim to create unexpected moments of support for individuals who may be struggling with mental health challenges, isolation, grief, or hopelessness.
We believe that even brief positive interactions, a kind word, a simple reminder, a moment of feeling seen, can make a meaningful difference. By placing these messages throughout our communities, we encourage open conversations about mental health, reduce stigma, and inspire people to keep going one more day.
About the #1moreday Community Rock Project
The #1moreday Community Rock Project was created to spread hope, connection, and mental health awareness through simple acts of kindness placed throughout our community.
Participants paint small rocks with encouraging words, positive messages, artwork, or reminders of hope, then place them in public spaces for others to discover. Each rock includes the hashtag #1moreday, creating a visible reminder that no one is alone and that even difficult moments can pass.
Why We Do It
Mental health struggles often happen quietly. Many people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, stress, loneliness, or hopelessness may never openly ask for help. Research and lived experience both show that small positive interruptions, a kind message, an unexpected reminder, a moment of feeling seen, can help someone pause, reconnect, and make it through a difficult day.
The purpose of this project is not to replace professional support or crisis services, but to create moments of human connection and encouragement within everyday life. A painted rock may seem small, but for someone struggling, finding a message of hope at the right moment can matter more than we realize.
How It Works
Community members, families, schools, businesses, and organizations are invited to participate by:
- Painting rocks with encouraging messages, uplifting artwork, or symbols of hope
- Including the hashtag #1moreday on each rock
- Placing rocks in safe public spaces throughout the community
- Sharing photos and stories to help spread awareness and encouragement
Businesses and community partners can support the project by:
- Hosting rock-painting events
- Displaying rocks inside their business
- Providing safe places for rocks to be shared
- Helping spread awareness about mental health and community connection
- Encouraging employees, customers, students, or members to participate
Our Goal
Our goal is to create small, unexpected moments of encouragement that remind people they are valued, supported, and worthy of another day. Through creativity, compassion, and community participation, we hope to reduce stigma around mental health and inspire conversations centered on hope, kindness, and connection.
One small rock can carry one small powerful message: you are not alone.
